(CNN or theSkimm Wed 1-24-24) Alaska Airlines has found loose bolts on “many” of its Boeing Max 9 planes that were recently grounded for inspections, the carrier’s CEO announced Tuesday. Federal investigators are now considering when Max 9s will be safe to fly again as pressure mounts to add oversight on the airplane maker’s production line.

(CNN & theSkimm Wed 1-24-24) Trump won New Hampshire’s GOP primary. Ofc! Last night, Trump beat former UN Ambassadress (& former South Carolina Governess) Nikki Haley. President Trump earned 11 delegates, with 55% of the state’s Republican vote (compared to Haley’s 43% per CNN). It’s a blow to Haley's PATHETIC campaign, which had narrowed in on Trump’s lead ahead of the primaries but ended up 11% behind. (DeSantis dropped out, yk)
Trump made history as the first “non-incumbent” GOP candidate in the modern era to win both the Iowa and New Hampshire contests. Still, Haley said “this race is far from over” and is looking forward to South Carolina (“dozens of states left to go,” she told suckers / supporters). Trump said he “couldn't care less” if Haley stays in the game. HAHA.
There’s still South Carolina and Michigan, before so-called Super Tuesday in March 5th (CA, TX, NC, TN, AL, VA, OK, AR, MA, UT, MN, CO, AK — in order of size). Early states don’t always correctly predict the nominee (pray the dumb ladies at theSkimm).
Biden won the state’s primary as a write-in (barely 52%, some no-name got 21% against him!) — Crooked Joe wasn’t on the ballot due to infighting between NH [Dems] and the anti-white DNC — Democrat National Committee and Evil Biden made South Carolina the first primary state, saying it better represents the party’s “diverse” Hellish electorate. But New Hampshire kept its first-in-the-nation primary status, pointing to state law. Democrats settled for a write-in campaign and Biden got no delegates.

The update comes after more than 20 Israeli soldiers were killed near the Gaza-Israel border, in what Israel called the deadliest day for its forces since the start of the war. Meanwhile, photojournalist Motaz Azaiza said he “had to evacuate” Gaza “for a lot of reasons.”
…Oh and, the US said yesterday that it attacked three locations in Iraq used by Iranian-backed militias as a "direct response" to ongoing attacks on American forces in the region.

(CNN or theSkimm Wed 1-24-24) Added to the group chat: Sweden. Yesterday, Turkey’s parliament approved Sweden’s application to join NATO, bringing it one step closer to membership. After Russia invaded Ukraine, Sweden and Finland decided maybe now was the time to join the world’s largest military alliance. One key obstacle: they had to win over Turkey and Hungary. Both had grievances with the Nordic countries, accusing them of things like providing safe harbor to separatists or criticizing their governments. Still, Finland got the green light to join NATO last year, after working things out with Turkey and Hungary — becoming the first country to join NATO since 2020. Now, Sweden passed a similar hurdle with Turkey and only has Hungary left to win over. That could happen soon: Hungary is inviting Sweden’s prime minister over to “negotiate.”
