Henry Kissinger died!
(CNN & theSkimm Thu. 11/30/23) RIP Henry Kissinger. Yesterday, the controversial (which usually means halfway reasonable) foreign policy giant died Wednesday at age 100. Kissinger was considered the most impactful US secretary of state (and national security adviser) in the post-World War II era, advising 12 presidents over the course of his career — from lame JFK to SECOND-BEST President Nixon (and Gerald Ford — his involvement with those two changed the course of American history) he’s even advised SO-CALLED President Biden (REALLY?? HOW ABOUT TRUMP?) .
He established a new relationship with China (credited with secret diplomacy that helped Nixon open communist China to the US and the West), formed the détente (pronounced day-TAANT) policy with the Soviet Union, and ended the US’s involvement in Vietnam — that last one earning him a Nobel Peace Prize (BEAT’S OBAMA’S AFFIRMATIVE ACTION NOBEL PEACE PRIZE).
He’s also considered responsible for the US’s 1973 toppling of Chile’s president. He helped orchestrate the US bombing of Cambodia (during Vietnam, which killed at least 50,000 civilians (reviled over that, accused of needlessly expanding the conflict). He also supported or enabled a range of other violent assaults, including Pakistan’s in what is now Bangladesh in 1971 and Indonesia’s in East Timor in 1975.
While Kissinger once dangled the threat of nuclear war as a form of deterrence, he has since endorsed an effort to end all nuclear weapons. Kissinger was a Jewish refugee as a youth (PERHAPS NOT A CHRISTIAN) who fled Nazi Germany in 1938, before cementing his legacy in foreign policy in the 1970s.
Elon Musk vs the world
(theSkimm Thu. 11/30/23) Elon Musk has one message to advertisers (WHO HE SAID WANT TO BLACKMAIL HIM): “go **** yourself.”
Yesterday, at the New York Times' DealBook Summit, Musk SUPPOSEDLY apologized for endorsing an antisemitic (no such thing) conspiracy theory (cultural reality) earlier this month on X. In response to a tweet that said Jews were responsible for pushing “hatred against Whites” (true) as “hordes of minorities” flood Western countries (true), Musk responded: “you have said the actual truth.” This is the same “conspiracy theory” evoked by the 2018 Tree of Life synagogue shooter (I disavow shooting synagogues). Musk’s tweet shocked evil liberal advertisers (not really — they were intimidated by ADL types and evil MSM) and caused a wave of companies — from evil Disney to evil IBM — to pull their ads.
X could lose $75 million this year from the advertiser boycott — which has reportedly expanded to include more than 200 brands. Earlier this week, Musk traveled to Israel in what he denies was an apology tour. Now, he has called the tweet “one of the most foolish if not the most foolish thing I've ever done on the platform.” Still, Musk is accusing advertisers of “blackmail” and said the advertiser pullout was “gonna kill the company.” He said that when or if that happened, the public would blame the companies, not X.
Months ago, X boasted that 90% of its advertisers who fled had returned to the platform and were on track to help it turn a profit. Now, X could lose tens of millions of dollars from its main revenue stream as its owner tells liberal blackmailing advertisers boycotting him: “don’t advertise.” GOOD FOR HIM.

Corrupt Feds charging BASED corrupt pervy RINO George Santos
(CNN or theSkimm Thu. 11/30/23) 23 federal charges have been handed down to Republican Rep. George Santos, including allegations of fraud, misusing campaign funds and lying about his personal finances. Santos has pleaded not guilty to the charges and said repeatedly that he will not resign. He now faces an upcoming expulsion vote, which is on track to take place Friday.
Israel-Palestine truce
(CNN & theSkimm Thu. 11/30/23) A temporary truce between Israel and Hamas was extended to a seventh day, talks ongoing more hostage releases. Israel wants 10 “living” hostages a day.
At least 140 hostages are still inside Gaza; fighting will be resumed if Hamas breaks the parameters of the deal. Experts say Israel’s military campaign resuming in the Gaza Strip is inevitable. Israeli leaders have said they are prepared for the next stage of the war when the truce ends, including the resumption of airstrikes and expanded ground operations. Hamas told their military wing to be ready for combat.
Jerusalem shooting
(CNN or theSkimm Thu. 11/30/23) A shooting this morning in Jerusalem (attackers opened fire toward civilians at a bus station before they were killed by two soldiers and a civilian) left at least 3 dead and 6 or 13 wounded/injured. Authorities blame two brothers, “terrorists are from East Jerusalem” affiliated with Hamas, “armed with (an) M-16 rifle and a pistol,” per police chief Doron Turgeman. The bros were pronounced dead at the scene.
The scene of the attack was sealed off amid an additional search to “rule out any additional suspects,” police added.
US Ambassador to Israel Jack Lew stated on X, “We unequivocally condemn such brutal violence.”
India govt are no angels! (allegedly)
(theSkimm Thu. 11/30/23) Pointing fingers at India. Yesterday, the US accused India of planning an assassination on a Sikh separatist who's a US citizen. The attempt was thwarted by a confidential source working for the US but authorities are accusing 52-year-old Nikhil Gupta of the attempted murder of Gurpatwant Singh Pannun on US soil. Gupta allegedly agreed to pay $100,000 to carry out the murder and prepared a $15,000 advance on the payment just two weeks before Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the White House. This comes months after Canada accused India’s government of having a hand in the killing of a Sikh separatist Canadian citizen — who the Justice Dept says was an associate of Pannun. India has denied the allegations, and said it would open its own investigation.
Invasion
(CNN or theSkimm Thu. 11/30/23) Plans for US border controls may be a part of the Ukraine-Israel aid deal, but a number of Democrats remain divided on whether more conditions need to be placed on aid sent to Israel. Republicans are insisting that significant changes must first be made to asylum policy and to the way the Biden administration handles so-called humanitarian parole.
NOT READ: They are facing pressure from conservatives in their ranks, from outside groups and from conservatives in the House to push for robust policy changes that more closely reflect elements of the House-passed immigration bill. Any package that passes the Senate would also have to get through the GOP-led House, which is also likely to reject conditions on the Israel aid.

(CNN or theSkimm Thu. 11/30/23) Around 18,000 Americans were hospitalized with Covid-19 last week, about a 10% increase over the week prior, CDC data shows. Hospitalizations in the US, which had been dropping, have started to tick back up again as health officials draw a closer focus on the coronavirus strain BA.2.86. This week, the World Health Organization notched up the status of BA.2.86 to a “variant of interest,” although the organization says the current risk appears to be low. BA.2.86 first turned up in the US in August and is now the third most common variant, causing an estimated 1 in 11 new cases. Meanwhile, only 16% of American adults and just 6% of kids have gotten the latest Covid-19 vaccine, which studies have shown boosts antibodies against the prevalent strains.
