First, Some News:
(Drudge) Netanyahu to meet centrist rival in last-ditch bid to form unity government… JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will make a final effort this week to salvage a deal from talks to form a unity government with his centrist election rival, he said on Sunday. An inconclusive ballot on Sept. 17, the second this year, has created a political deadlock and left Israel's longest-serving prime minister weakened. Netanyahu, facing a looming indictment on corruption allegations he denies, has failed to secure a clear election victory twice in six months. His right-wing Likud party came second with 32 seats in the 120-member parliament, against 33 for former military chief Benny Gantz's centrist Blue and White party. With neither party leader appearing able on his own to put together a coalition with a ruling majority, Israel's president on Wednesday tasked Netanyahu with forming the next government in the hope of securing a power-sharing deal between the Blue and White party and Likud. If Netanyahu fails to clinch a deal, President Reuven Rivlin is then likely to ask Gantz to try to form a government, though he, like Netanyahu, also has no clear path to power.
The parties' negotiators met on Friday without success, with each side blaming the other for the stalemate. Likud said Netanyahu then telephoned Gantz and the two men would probably meet on Wednesday after another round of talks. "Prime Minister Netanyahu is making a last effort to bring about a breakthrough in the talks for a unity government," Likud's spokesman said. The Blue and White party said it would spare no effort to form "a broad, liberal, unity government". In a video posted on Twitter, Netanyahu said there was no other solution than for him to serve first as prime minister and Gantz to serve second within a unity government. Gantz, however, has pledged not to serve in a government under a premier facing criminal charges. His party has accused Likud of stalling in the talks in the hope of triggering yet another election. Netanyahu, for his part, has said that the Blue and Whites were trying to instigate a coup within Likud that would see the party join a unity government with the Blue and White party after casting aside its veteran leader.
Israel’s attorney-general is due to hold a pre-trial hearing this week on his announced intention to indict Netanyahu on fraud and bribery charges in three corruption cases. Netanyahu, who says he is a victim of a political witchhunt, can argue at the session against prosecution.
(Drudge) Intense Hong Kong clashes ahead of China's 70th anniversary… Hong Kong (AFP via Yahoo News) - Fierce clashes broke out between protesters and riot police in Hong Kong Sunday as thousands marched through the strife-torn city, during a day of global protests aimed at casting a shadow over communist China's upcoming 70th birthday. UGLY… HONG KONG (WSJ) — Tens of thousands of protesters poured onto Hong Kong’s streets Sunday, with the fiercest battles in weeks breaking out as demonstrators faced off with police and shouted anti-China slogans ahead of Tuesday’s 70th anniversary of the founding of Communist China. The protesters had planned to march to the government headquarters in the center of the city under the theme “Global Anti-Totalitarianism Rally.” The police broke up the march at about 4 p.m., an hour or so after it began.
Beijing parade a glimpse into military ambitions… I described it this week. It sounded HUGE.

The corrupt media, Democrats, and RINOs are “investigating” a political rival: Trump.
Cernovich pointed out Biden is not merely a political rival. He was Vice President of the United States. He was the corrupt one. BTW: What are the origins of the phony Russia conspiracy theory?
SOME DRUDGE HEADLINES:
(Drudge) BARR HANGS TOUGH AP headline: “Trump blurs the line between personal lawyer and attorney general.” BECAUSE WHAT’S GOOD FOR TRUMP IS GOOD FOR AMERICA. Trump told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, “I will have Mr. Giuliani give you a call and I am also going to have Attorney General Barr call and we will get to the bottom of it,” that’s a quote according to the memo of the call that was released by the White House this past week. But the Justice Department insists Barr wasn’t made aware of the call with Zelenskiy until at least mid-August. Barr has not spoken with Trump about investigating Biden or Biden’s son Hunter, and Trump has not asked Barr to contact Ukranian officials about the matter, the department said. Barr has also not spoken with Giuliani about anything related to Ukraine, officials have said.
Look at how AP puts it: Trump has sought, without evidence, to implicate the Bidens in the kind of corruption that has long plagued Ukraine. Hunter Biden served on the board of a Ukrainian gas company at the same time then-Vice President Joe Biden was leading the Obama administration’s diplomatic dealings with Ukraine. Though the timing raised concerns among anti-corruption advocates, there has been no evidence of wrongdoing by either Biden. There is no evidence that Hunter Biden was ever under investigation in Ukraine. (THERE IS NO EVIDENCE THAT TRUMP DID ANYTHING WRONG OR ILLEGAL! I ADDED THAT IN THERE.)
AP says: Since becoming attorney general in February, Barr has been one of Trump’s staunchest defenders. He framed special counsel Robert Mueller’s report in favorable terms for the president in a news conference this year, even though Mueller said he did not exonerate Trump. (AP points out Trump was extremely disappointed in former AG Jeff Sessions for recusing himself from heading the so-called Russia investigation.)
(Drudge) DEMS WANT MORE CALL TRANSCRIPTS OF COURSE.
Pelosi 'heartbroken, prayerful' as impeachment moves forward… LAUGHABLE! (ABC News) "This is a very sad time for our country. There is no joy in this," she said. "We must be somber, we must be prayerful and we must pursue the facts further to make a decision as to, Did this violate the Constitution of the United States? Which I believe it did." Pelosi's appearance at the Texas Tribune Festival in Austin on Saturday comes just four days after she announced the U.S. House of Representatives would pursue a formal impeachment inquiry of Trump. She goes on: "I'm heartbroken about it. I would just have hoped that there would be something exculpatory, something that would say, 'This is not what it seems to be,' but that's not where we are right now," she added. "I think that right now there's a cover up of the cover up. This really goes beyond." House Democrats on Friday subpoenaed the State Department for information related to Trump's interactions with Ukraine, including the July 25 phone call with President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. However, members of the Trump administration have ignored congressional subpoenas, which Democrats are currently battling in court. Pelosi postured more: "If his judges decide that Congress has no oversight over the president of the United States, and that the administration does not have to respond to subpoenas, the system of checks and balances is over," Pelosi said. "I have a responsibility to protect and defend the Constitution."
Signs of discomfort in defense of president… NO STOMACH. NO SPINE.
