JLP Show Notes | Wed 1-10-24

Why Female Monday? BQ: Do you have confidence? PDAs are woman’s idea, they mean hell! Callers on Christianity, forgiveness, Russian on socialism, great Muhammad Ali and Islam.

1-10-24 Wed JLP Hr 1 Why FEMALE Monday? Have Confidence? PDAs mean hell. Forgiveness

Super Chats: Female Monday? Who came up with that? Sean, at JLP’s request! Why can't you call us women? Biblical Q: Do you have confidence?  //  Hake responds about PDAs (Public Displays of Affection), Kylie Jenner. Then: British(?) man-on-the-street on PDAs  //

Danielle in GA: Blessed and highly favored. Forgave father? Don’t assume you won’t get a word in edgewise. She’ll wait for “unction” from the Lord.  PDAs… She feels more secure and safer holding her man’s hand? Etymology of confidence, she thinks Con means Fake. But Hake says Con means “with.” She has confidence in the Lord. Why do you say the scars will always be there from when you were sexually done-up as a kid? Somebody lied to you! Let the thoughts go of it. She holds over to 2nd hour…

1-10-24 Wed JLP Hr 2  Calls: Christianity, Judgment, Forgiveness. Blacks in America

Finishing with Danielle in GA with her going off a bit (friendly still), she’s 37!  //  More on PDAs: How do you feel when you see one? Most of the time it’s the woman behind it. Sometimes the man, because he has the woman’s nature, but usually he’s embarrassed.  //  Emanuel in Canada: Q on judgment… Saying women are evil feels like judgment. But he does see it. The greatest sin: forgetting to stay present. He’s still fat! Walk, eat fruits and veggies… (Hake).  //  Oliver in TX (1st) ….  //  Black guy who jumped the judge’s bench got 4 years prison. His foster mother said he’s in a better place now, shouldn’t go to jail. Bad: Whites afraid of blacks. The black head of the military was AWOL! Lloyd Austin! Affirmative Action with flight coordination (forget how that’s said)  //  Vlad in Russia likes Jesse but disagrees his condemnation of socialism and communism (he holds over)  //

1-10-24 Wed JLP Hr 3  "If" poem. Vlad defends socialism. Blacks in airlines.

Manhood Hour: JLP reads from the "If" poem, given him in a big framed poster by Camila K (sp / pronounce?) Great monologue…  //  Vlad from Russia continues (from 2nd hour) is not Christian (Putin doesn’t know) defending Russian socialism vs American “capitalism” which is becoming socialist. Freedom, immorality… They talk about spirituality and forgiving mother. Silent Prayer … Beta!  //

Rene in L.A., CA: blacks getting hired in airline industry, guy he knows admits he doesn’t know anything and doesn’t know why they hired him! They’re putting us at risk even in the sky. Ride a bike! …  //  (Break: … Silent Prayer in Spanish.)  //  Rene’s ex-gf wanted to do PDAs, he wouldn’t, she was crazy, right? He says yes to BQ, he has confidence but probably shouldn’t.  //

Momo in WA thinks Muhammad Ali was great b/c he refused to kill innocent Viet Cong. He’s Muslim, and Somali. Sorry to hear about that! He said USA only dropped bombs on Muslims in the last 20 years. Somalia is 100% Muslim, or [over] 99%. Islam’s a peaceful religion. Chopping off heads, calling others infidels… propaganda! Do you love the Jews? No. But Christian pastors are sometimes GAY.  //  Pappy (sp) asks about jewish tunnels. Do you love the Jews? When they’re not running our country. Why not always?  //

Govt / Social media the new parents of children

(CNN or theSkimm Wed 1/10/24) Meta is rolling out new restrictions for teenage Facebook and Instagram users, including hiding search results for certain terms. This comes as social media platforms have faced a litany of criticism and lawsuits over how they handle online safety.

Two Losers

(CNN or theSkimm Wed 1/10/24) Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will face off on CNN tonight in the fifth and final Republican presidential debate before the Iowa caucuses kick off next week. Both are searching for the critical blow that could position them as the sole viable challenger to former President Donald Trump, who is again skipping the event. The debate will begin at 9 p.m. ET at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, and it will be the first time that Haley and DeSantis will meet on stage alone. Meanwhile, Haley has trimmed Trump’s lead in the primary race in New Hampshire to single digits, according to a new CNN Poll. Trump, however, has crossed the 50% mark in most recent polling on the Iowa caucuses and still holds wider majorities in national polls for the Republican nomination.

Winter Storm

(CNN or theSkimm Wed 1/10/24) An expansive storm packing nearly every winter weather threat is set to dump more snow and rain on the Northeast today after battering a large swath of the eastern US. More than 450,000 homes and businesses were without power in the US this morning, including nearly 150,000 in New York and about 115,000 in Pennsylvania, according to PowerOutage.us. At least four deaths have been reported across Alabama, Georgia and North Carolina as storms walloped the states with fierce winds and rain. The heavy downpours are also fueling flood fears throughout the western Carolinas to the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, with “numerous” flash floods possible, the National Weather Service said.

Boeing’s sorry

(CNN or theSkimm Wed 1/10/24) Boeing CEO David Calhoun acknowledged the company’s “mistake” in the wake of the terrifying Alaska Airlines emergency landing incident. A company source told CNN that Boeing believes “the mistake in question” was introduced in the aircraft’s manufacturing supply chain, although regulators and Boeing are still investigating the exact cause of the incident. President Joe Biden is also personally tracking the grounding of many Boeing 737 MAX 9 planes for inspection, the White House said Tuesday. The aircraft will likely return to service plane by plane as they pass stringent safety tests, according to aviation experts.

6 Million Catholics

(CNN or theSkimm Wed 1/10/24) Today’s number: 6 million Catholic devotees flooded the streets of Manilla on Tuesday to honor the Black Nazarene, a centuries-old religious tradition that has returned after a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Millions of Filipinos waited for hours along the procession route to get close to the wooden statue, as many believe that touching it can bring blessings to them or their loved ones.

Israel-Palestine War Drama and US Mama Meddling

(CNN or theSkimm Wed 1/10/24) Secretary of State Antony Blinken was in Israel on Tuesday where he told officials that Palestinians in Gaza must be allowed to return to their homes “as soon as conditions allow.” Blinken has repeatedly called on the Israeli government to shift its military tactics to reduce the number of civilian casualties in the enclave. Also on Tuesday, the US Navy shot down 21 Houthi missiles and drones launched from Yemen in one of the largest Houthi attacks to take place in the Red Sea in recent months. Houthi rebels say they are attacking the world’s most important maritime trade routes as revenge against Israel for its military campaign in Gaza.

Ecuador

(CNN or theSkimm Wed 1/10/24) Ecuador’s president has declared an “internal armed conflict” in the country due to extreme violence. The decree came Tuesday after a live television program in the country was interrupted by hooded and armed men. Ecuadorians were stunned as they watched the assailants force staff of the state-owned network onto the floor of the studio as shots and yelling were heard in the background. Ecuador’s police later said they had arrested all the armed men, members of the media outlet had been evacuated, and all staff and hostages were alive. The country has been rocked by explosions, police kidnappings and prison disturbances since a nationwide state of emergency was declared Monday after notorious gang leader Adolfo “Fito” Macias escaped from prison over the weekend.

Pray for black  Affirmative Action defense sec

(CNN or theSkimm Wed 1/10/24) QUOTE: “Nobody in the White House knew.” — National Security Council spokesman John Kirby, commenting that senior US officials were made aware Tuesday that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin was diagnosed with prostate cancer. The Pentagon had been facing intense questions after Austin was hospitalized on January 1 and kept his condition secret from White House officials, including President Biden.

Who’s clearing the air: The Pentagon. Yesterday, it revealed that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s secretive hospitalization was related to prostate cancer treatment. Last week, Austin landed in the ICU after developing complications from a minimally invasive surgery on Dec 22 to treat the cancer. Austin didn’t tell the White House or Congress about his condition for days. President Biden first learned about Austin’s cancer diagnosis yesterday. Republican lawmakers say Austin acted recklessly, leaving US military leadership in doubt. Pentagon officials maintain Austin’s hospitalization didn’t put national security at risk, adding that his diagnosis is “deeply personal.” But after being left in the dark, the Biden admin is now requiring Cabinet members to keep the White House up-to-date on anything that may affect their duties.

Phony female “judges”: Persecution of the President

(CNN or theSkimm Wed 1/10/24) Our Greatest President Trump didn’t impress the judges yesterday. YEAH RIGHT.

Lame-o liberal judges deciding his federal election interference case. Reminder: there’s the civil fraud case, the classified documents case, hush-money and defamation cases, and more. 45's court appearance was about the Justice Department’s election case, in which special counsel Jack Smith referred four criminal charges accusing Trump of trying to overturn the 2020 election results. Yesterday, Trump’s lawyers asked a panel of appeals court judges in DC to dismiss the case.

Trump’s team maintained that he is immune from prosecution over his actions on January 6th. Their argument: that Trump cannot be tried for his actions while serving as president since it’s up to Congress to decide whether to impeach and convict (reminder: Trump's been impeached twice, acquitted twice).

NOT READ: One judge tried to press how far Trump’s lawyers thought that logic would go, asking whether a president could be charged for ordering Navy SEALs to assassinate a political rival. The Trump team's response: not without a congressional conviction. The judges — two appointed by President Biden, one by former President George HW Bush — did not seem convinced. One judge said “it’s paradoxical” to say that the constitutional duty to ensure laws are “faithfully executed” allows a president to violate criminal law.

If the judges decide against Trump, he’s expected to appeal the case and potentially get it in front of the Supreme Court. The pressure is on: next week are the Iowa caucuses. If the trial goes on as planned in March, it will start the day before Super Tuesday. Meanwhile, Trump has been showing up in person to advocate for himself not just in court — but in the court of public opinion. Yesterday, he dismissed the election interference case as “persecution of a political opponent” and said: “When they talk about threat to democracy, that’s your real threat to democracy.”

What happens next is in the hands of judges who could help set a precedent for future US leaders and elections — a precedent some see as dangerous, others as necessary. STOOPID!
