HAKE NEWS, Hr 1 | Thu. 9-28-23

  • Senate adopts a dress code after all  //  Second debate, BORING!  //  Trump spoke to Union that’s striking  //  Black North Korea defector is back in America  //

Schumer overruled? Change of heart?

(CNN or theSkimm Thu. 9/28/23) The Senate has unanimously passed a formal dress code, including a coat, tie and slacks for men. The move was seen as reflective, at least in part, of Pennsylvania Democratic Sen. John Fetterman’s preference for wearing shorts and a hoodie on the floor of the chamber.

Second debate, why do I feel bored?

(CNN and theSkimm Thu. 9/28/23) The second primary debate (like the first debate) was pretty inconsequential; they jostled for time and for a distant second place to Trump, pretending to care for American voters. Chris Christie called Our Greatest President Donald Duck (oh, because he ducked the debate, I get it, that’s cute. DeSantis keeps falling behind — he called Trump “missing in action”. None of the lame-o’s voted each other off the island. WEAK!

Vivek ran his mouth the most — end birthright citizenship for anchor babies born to illegals. He doesn’t mind being on TikTok — the RINOs accused him of being in bed with China. Nikki Haley feels “dumber” every time Vivek talks, like she’s one to talk. She wants lawmakers to lose pay if the government shuts down — she and Tim Scott argued about govt spending and curtains. Christie and Pence talked about who does or doesn’t sleep with teachers

Someone said Gov. Doug Burgum (ND) is likely to drop out. There’s a fundraising deadline. At least the most vicious anti-Trump RINO Asa Hutchinson is long gone.

Trump did his speech to union workers (United Auto Workers) in Michigan.

To 300 workers (a few striking guys)... “Joe Biden claims to be the most pro-union president in history,” said Trump, who toured one of the company’s factories before he began his remarks. “His entire career has been an act of economic treason and union destruction.”

He added a direct appeal to UAW officials.  “Hopefully,” he said, “your leaders at the United Auto Workers will endorse Donald Trump.”

That black North Korea defector made it back!

(CNN or theSkimm Thu. 9/28/23) American soldier Travis King arrived back on US soil today, weeks after he bolted into North Korea, a Defense Department official said. Travis King, who is now in American custody, flew in on a US military flight and landed in Texas around 1:30 a.m. ET. A CNN camera captured what appears to be King being escorted off the plane by several people. While many questions still remain, such as what prompted King to enter North Korea and whether he will face any disciplinary action, his return marks a rare diplomatic success between Washington and Pyongyang at a time of fraught relations. The 23-year-old is believed to be the first US soldier to cross into North Korea since 1982.

HAKE NEWS, Hr 2 | Thu. 9-28-23

  • Gas prices going up yet more, stockpiles a 9-year low  //  Kia and Hyundai recall: Vehicles catch fire!  //  MSU fires coach Mel Tucker after Brenda Tracy cries “sExUaL hArRaSsMeNt”  //  Cher’s ex-daughter-in-law accused her of “kidnapping” her son when trying to reconcile with wife  //  White House pushes “AI Bill of Rights” more  //

Gas prices rising yet more

(CNN or theSkimm Thu. 9/28/23) Oil prices surged above $94 a barrel on Wednesday for the first time in more than a year, a signal gas prices may increase in the near term.

Stockpiles at the closely watched storage hub in Cushing, Oklahoma, have also plunged to nine-year lows.

“There’s not a lot of oil there and that’s causing some nervousness,” said Tom Kloza, global head of energy analysis at Oil Price Information Service.

The national average for a gallon of regular gas currently stands at $3.83, according to AAA. That’s 5 cents below the 2023 high set earlier this month, though several states are seeing much higher prices. According to market analysts, more pain at the pump typically results in less consumer spending elsewhere, which could further drive up inflation.

Kia and Hyundai recall

(CNN or theSkimm Thu. 9/28/23) 3.3M Hyundai (HYUHN-d’eh) and Kia vehicles recalled — certain models could suddenly catch fire. The automakers and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recommended owners should park outside and away from structures. WHOA!

Another man MeToo’d by females-crying-rape culture

(theSkimm Thu. 9/28/23) Yesterday, Michigan State University fired football coach Mel Tucker over allegations that he “sexually harassed” Brenda Tracy, a prominent allegedrape survivor” and activist he previously worked with last year (she fine, he liked her, she mighta too, he black, she idk what). The news ends the career of one of the highest-paid coaches in college sports and comes after years of scrutiny at MSU over sports allegations against sports doctor Larry Nassar. MSU said Mel Tucker’s actions “brought public disrespect, contempt, and ridicule upon the university.” Tucker has said MSU “does not care about my rights.” Nope, they don’t!

Cher’s REAL son…

(theSkimm Thu. 9/28/23) WHAT? Cher. Yesterday, court documents alleged that the singer hired four men to kidnap her son, Elijah Blue Allman (P. Exeter Blue). Allman and his ex-wife Marie Angela King (known as Queenie) were trying to work on their marriage in New York City when Queenie alleges four men came to take Allman. Now, King reportedly says Cher did it because the couple were trying to “reconcile” their marriage. In the documents, she said one of the men claimed they were hired by Cher. Cher hasn’t commented.

White House, save us from AI

(CNN or theSkimm Thu. 9/28/23) The White House plans to introduce a highly anticipated executive order in the coming weeks dealing with artificial intelligence. The signing of the order, which the Biden administration had first announced in July, would build on an earlier administration proposal for an “AI Bill of Rights.” The set of guidelines is intended to spur tech companies to make and deploy AI more “responsibly” (meaning anti-white, etc.) and limit AI-based surveillance, the administration has said. There are no federal laws specifically regulating AI or applications of AI, such as facial-recognition software, which has been criticized by privacy and digital rights groups for years.

NOT READ: Impeachment inquiry, another eyeroll

(CNN or theSkimm Thu. 9/28/23) House Republicans are expected to formally open an impeachment inquiry into President Biden today. The anticipated announcement comes amid increasing pressure from House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s right flank to move ahead with the investigation — even though the GOP has so far failed to show any evidence that the president corruptly benefited from his son Hunter’s business dealings. The first hearing is taking place with just three days to reach a spending deal to keep the government open. This means that committees may be seeking information from government agencies where many employees will be furloughed or not prioritizing congressional requests. In other words, issuing subpoenas and hauling in witnesses for interviews or hearings may prove more complicated than usual.
