After JLP, The Hake Report

JLP Show Notes | Mon. 6-26-23

JLP Hr 1

Amazing Church conversation yesterday about “democracy.” It reminded me of what we lost. … BQ: There’s nothing to be ashamed of. You think it’s you, not knowing or seeing for sure that it’s a spirit of evil, the Devil’s abnormal, evil nature that made a home in the mind and body. … JLP continues with a great monologue and shows the LGBT chanting, “We’re coming for your children!”  //

Aaron from Tampa, FL (1st-timer) says his grandpa walked in a Dollar General, an old school Democrat saying N-I-G this and that, which bled down to his father. He claims they see blacks as less than human, and Mexicans a little better. Where are you coming with “Racism doesn’t exist?” (He says “like” a lot.) Did you hear Pentecostal was the Aryan nation? Are you a Christian? I believe Jesus blah blah blah…

Aaron from Tampa continues: I’m 41, but I act younger. Why? Just got a house, my wife’s a nurse. How does it feel with me acting like a child, Karen? Cope with it, sometimes horrifying… I am angry, so angry. A spiritual attack. He prayed for his mother, and thinks she went to heaven. How that gonna work when you still in Hell? Do you know you’re in Hell? As JLP tries to tell him how to overcome his hell, he acts all fake-friendly, saying, “Keep doin’ what you’re doin…” *click*  //

Mike in MD (1st-timer) gets angry and follows Jesus, with a righteousness about it. …

JLP Hr 2

Mike in Maryland (1st-timer) continues from first hour: where is forgiveness in the Bible? Something like that. Bring every thought into captivity… How you do all that? You don’t see you need to go and forgive your mother? “We talked for 6 hours.” Your mother’s jealous of your wife, she wanted to be your wife, that’s why she got involved and destroyed your marriage. …

Super Chats I think: Experts, is America the greatest? Sean and Hake try…  //

JLP Hr 3

Nick in TX called a couple years ago and JLP told him then to leave his wife. But since then he’s made a baby with her, and she sleeps in, and the baby cries in daycare all day.  //  Super Chats…   //  Damon in Indiana (1st-timer) is upset because his wife hates him. He loves her, he says. GREAT CALL!

Robot lookin’ for Titan debris

(CNN Mon. 6/26/23) A robot is combing the ocean floor for debris from the Titan submersible as authorities continue to investigate what caused the vessel to implode on its expedition to the Titanic.

Russia civil war??

(CNN Mon. 6/26/23) Russia may have avoided an insurrection over the weekend, but there are still a lot of questions about what transpired. It's unclear what will happen to Wagner Group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin, who led the insurrection against Russian military leadership. It's also too soon to know how the uprising might affect the war in Ukraine, and there will likely be other implications as well.

One key takeaway: Russian President Vladimir Putin looks weak as a result (like America?). "It feels like the beginning of the end for him," writes CNN's Nick Paton Walsh. Meanwhile, Ukraine claims it has made inroads against Russian forces around Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine.

Invasion

(CNN Mon. 6/26/23) The Supreme Court has revived Biden administration immigration guidelines that “prioritize” which noncitizens (aliens) to detain and which to deport. Friday's 8-1 ruling dismisses a challenge from Republican state attorneys general in Texas and Louisiana, who had argued that the policies conflicted with immigration law. (...only BASED Samuel Alito dissented!)

It also tightens the rules around when states can challenge federal policies with which they disagree — the second decision in a week to do so. EVIL! (I do still like Thomas)

The ruling is a major victory for President Joe Biden and the White House, who have consistently argued the need to “prioritize” who[m] they detain and deport given “limited resources.”

With the Supreme Court beginning its final week, all eyes will be on the high court as the justices will release cases on issues such as affirmative action, student loan payments, election law and LGBTQ rights.

Another train derailment: MT

(CNN Mon. 6/26/23) Cleanup has begun after a train derailment in Montana over the weekend caused a bridge across the Yellowstone River to collapse and sent several train cars into the water below. No injuries were reported. Some of the train cars were carrying molten sulfur and asphalt, while two cars carrying sodium hydrogen sulfate did not land in the river, according to Montana Rail Link. The company said it's continuing to test public drinking water and will monitor the impact on the nearby area.

Extreme weather!

(CNN Mon. 6/26/23) Several cities in northern India are experiencing heavy rain after a sweltering heat wave that recently engulfed countries across Asia. But while the showers provide some respite from the high temperatures, one researcher said that the country will be "approaching the limits to survivability by mid-century."

In the US, hundreds of thousands of people are without power across the Southeast and the Ohio Valley after tornado-spawning storms slammed the region.

NOT READ: Separately, a new analysis shows that extreme floods are happening far more often than federal data suggests, which could seriously affect everything from the building of new roads and bridges to the rising cost of flood insurance.

Greece

(CNN Mon. 6/26/23) Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has won another four-year term, while his “center-right” (WHICH MEANS LAME LIBERAL?) New Democracy party scored a resounding victory. Sunday's elections were dominated by financial stability and cost-of-living issues, and Mitsotakis had positioned himself as someone who could boost growth in difficult global circumstances. His government staged a stunning economic turnaround, with Greece now on the brink of returning to investment grade on the global market for the first time since it lost market access in 2010. The vote also came after a devastating migrant boat disaster, and although authorities were criticized for their response to the tragedy, it didn't hinder Mitsotakis’ lead.

Utah's mountains are turning pink and red

(CNN Mon. 6/26/23) It’s a phenomenon known as "watermelon snow." (looks like Himalayan salt) … happens all over the world, the result of green algae bloom that thrives in cold, snowy environments… types of algae living on ice and snow that can turn the usually white frozen precipitation into all kinds of colors, including purple, green and or

11 sets of twins just graduated from the same high school, and it's not even a record

(CNN Mon. 6/26/23) It’s in New Jersey. 340 students graduating too, btw, 22 students! “We actually had 16 sets of twins (in) the graduating class of 2021,” North Highlands High School Principal Joseph Occhino said. Current sophomore class has 12.  (Maybe the educated older liberal New England females living outside NYC been taking hormones or some type of fertility drug hence a bunch of twins — that’s my guess…)

Prince William believes it's possible to end homelessness

(CNN Mon. 6/26/23) The Prince of Wales has launched a plan to achieve that goal. ANTI-CHRIST?

RIP journal exec

(CNN Mon. 6/26/23) RIP David Bohrman, a former CNN executive who pioneered the use of the election night fixture known as the “Magic Wall,” died Sunday, according to his family. He was 69.

Art piece

(CNN Mon. 6/26/23) 7.7M That's how much a long-lost painting by Flemish artist Peter Paul Rubens could fetch at auction. The painting, “Saint Sebastian Tended by Two Angels," was misidentified for centuries and recently reemerged with the help of X-ray analysis.

NOT READ: T SWIFT quote

(CNN Mon. 6/26/23) QUOTE: “I was hoping to ask you that as we lead up to this album coming out, I would love for that kindness and that gentleness to extend onto our internet activities.” Taylor Swift, during a concert in Minneapolis ahead of the release of her upcoming album "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)." She made the request to fans before singing "Dear John," which Swifties have long believed is about her ex-boyfriend John Mayer.
