Covid complications

TRUMP CANCELS REPUBLICAN CONVENTION…

(Drudge / AFP) - President Donald Trump announced Thursday he was scrapping the Republican nominating convention in Florida as the number of coronavirus cases in the United States topped four million (more than 144,000 deaths).

Trump said he was cancelling next month's event in Jacksonville because it was not the right time to do a "big, crowded convention."

"The timing for this event is not right, it's just not right with what's happened recently," he said at a White House news conference.

He said there’s nothing more crowded than a convention.

Trump said convention events would be held "online in some form."

Mel Gibson was hospitalized in April with covid…

OH NO! ...OH, WAIT... THAT’S A LONG TIME AGO. (Drudge / The Sun) He was hospitalized for a week. He’s 64. He’s Australian! But he’s resided in the U.S. for several decades.) He was treated with the drug Remdesivir.

The actor was fired from the Netflix Chicken Run sequel back in June after Winona Ryder accused him of anti-semitism. The Stranger Things actress claimed that Mel asked her if she was a Jewish "oven dodger" at a 1995 party. Winona spoke about the incident in an interview with the Sunday Times, which was reported on by the NY Post. The 48-year-old actress recalled: "We were at a crowded party with one of my good friends, and Mel Gibson was smoking a cigar."

According to Winona, the topic of the Jewish faith came up and she claimed that Mel asked her: “You’re not an oven dodger, are you?” The term "oven dodger" is a reference to the way Jewish and other prisoners were reportedly killed, according to what people say, in Nazi death camps. Winona added that Mel asked her gay friend: "Oh, wait, am I gonna get AIDS?"

The actress claimed that Mel later tried to apologize for the comments, though his representative called the allegations "100% untrue." The rep told The Sun that Mel reached out to Winona when the allegations were first reported in 2010, though "she refused to address them with him."

Mel was previously faced criticism for his work in the film The Passion of the Christ, which critics said was anti-semitic. The Anti Defamation League (ADL) claimed in a statement that the film "could likely falsify history and fuel the animus of those who hate Jews." ODD STATEMENT.

Fauci flattens his curve as baseball finally returns…

(Drudge / NY Post) White House coronavirus task force member and diehard baseball fan Dr. Anthony Fauci threw the first pitch at the long-awaited 2020 MLB season opener — as the New York Yankees took on the World Series champion Nationals.

But Fauci, 79, threw the ball to the ground off to the right of the home plate. The catcher had to run and get the ball. Wearing a Nationals jersey and a red face mask, the 5-foot-7-inch righty bounced the ball on the grass, crossing the first base line, far wide of home plate. Fauci, a Brooklyn-born Nats fan, did have some pre-game jitters, telling the team’s Ryan Zimmerman he was “quite nervous” about pitching. AWW…

Zimmerman told him don’t worry about it. ““If you bounce it, there’s nobody there to boo you. So, you’ll be good to go.”

Not long before the highly anticipated game, President Trump announced he will throw the opening pitch at Yankee Stadium on Aug. 15. (HE’S THROWN A PITCH BEFORE LIKE A DECADE OR TWO AGO) He wondered how it would go with no crowd in the stands amid the pandemic

Attack on whites, cops, and America’s pastime

Red Sox for BLM… Kneeling Baseball players, and “Gentrifier” written on a Seattle pot shop.

RED SOX unveiled a jumbo Black Lives Matter mural at Fenway…

(Drudge / The Sun) The Boston baseball team revealed the 250-foot black and white billboard, which features the words “Black Lives Matter” in Red Sox brand font with the team logo at the end.

The billboard was unveiled after the 61st anniversary of Elijah “Pumpsie” Green debuting as the Red Sox’s first black player in 1959 — making Boston the last MLB team to integrate. SMH.

YANKEES AND NATIONALS ALL KNEEL…

(Drudge / Daily Caller) This in advance of the national anthem. Then they stood for the anthem. Geez they’re trying to please everyone! SMH. And they all (both teams) held a big long black rope of some sort to show a sign of unity between the teams. May as well have been holding hands, make you wanna cuss and commit hate speech!

(Drudge / AP) Masked men, empty parks, odd sounds… baseball isn’t the same with Covid shutdowns and enforced social distancing etc. What a mess.

Riots and Terror Attacks on America

(Drudge / Wash. Post via Houston Chronicle) Facing unrest on American streets, 'Homeland Security' turns inward... Meaning to DOMESTIC ENEMIES. RIGHTLY SO!

I mentioned yesterday I think, the first Homeland Security Secretary (under W. Bush after 9/11/01), (Drudge / CBS Pittsburgh) Tom RIDGE said: I'd Resign Before Letting Federal Agents Invade Cities... He’s dumb. The so-called war on terror was every bit as controversial as, and far more deadly than what Trump is doing to protect us from these Antifa / BLM terrorists who are pretending to be “peaceful.”

Over 100 officers with DHS were sent to Portland, Oregon in recent days.

The Portland Mayor Tear-Gassed... GOOD. That’s Ted Wheeler who’s kissing up to BLM and Antifa — he’s evil and weak. You may have seen JLP play clips of disgusting rioters throwing trash on the ground in front of his path as he walked with the disgusting people.

(Drudge / RINO outlet WSJ) Mayor Ted Wheeler joined protesters here on the front lines Wednesday night and was tear-gassed with the crowd, days after criticizing the Trump administration’s deployment of federal agents.

Videos and photographs of Mr. Wheeler posted on social media showed him wearing goggles and a surgical mask and coughing amid a cloud of gas.

Seattle businesses looted, defaced with 'gentrifier' graffiti…

(Drudge / NY Post) Rioters in Seattle busted out windows of a pot shop and scrawled “gentrifier” on it outside, according to a report.

A group of 150 people gathered late Wednesday at Cal Anderson Park before busting out windows and starting a pair of fires on Capitol Hill (WA), including one inside a business that firefighters later extinguished, police told the Seattle Times.

At another nearby business, Uncle Ike’s, which bills itself as Seattle’s “favorite pot shop,” protesters wrote the word “gentrifier” on the front of the building, which also had some of its windows smashed, video shows.

The protesters then took aim at another storefront, breaking into Rove Vintage, where they stole merchandise before setting those items on fire in the middle of a street, the newspaper reports, citing police and video footage.

Rove Vintage, meanwhile, is owned by the wife of one of the Seattle cops who fatally shot a pregnant black woman three years ago, according to city and state business records cited by the newspaper.

Two banks were also damaged and another business.

The violence came as a federal judge ruled late Wednesday that he will allow a recent ordinance passed by the Seattle City Council barring police from using tear gas and pepper spray during ongoing protests against police brutality to go into effect on Sunday.

The ruling came days after 12 Seattle cops were hurt when a downtown protest turned violent. The cops were injured by mortar-style fireworks tossed at them at close range, police officials told reporters.
